Reek is the smell you carry. It builds slowly, all the time. You start a little ripe, and from clean to foul takes about five days.

Washing

Get into the water. Reek falls fast while you are in it: less than an hour in the water washes off even the worst of it.

What makes it worse

• Toxin. A poisoned body sours, up to twice as fast. See Poison and Sickness.
• Some Burdens.

What reek costs

• You are easier to track. The stronger you smell, the more easily creatures follow you.
• You may fall ill. A foul body is more likely to sicken. See Poison and Sickness.

Stay clean. Wash yourself, and wash your clothes.
